Is there a cost associated with Targeted Services? 
No, Targeted Services is a completely free program aimed at assisting students with a specific need. 

Is transportation available?
For Youth Matters, parents are responsible for transportation.
During Summer Academy,
bussing services are available.

What if my child cannot attend all sessions? Can they still enroll? 
Yes! Please contact us to communicate any known absences ahead of time.

Targeted Services Overview

Targeted Services is the term used to describe the program offered to provide additional academic support to students at Middle School East outside of traditional school hours. The MSE Youth Matters program is outlined below. Students receive direct instruction from MSE staff members, tailored to the individual needs of each student in the areas of Mathematics, Language Arts, study skills, organization, and work completion.

Youth Matters

The MSE Youth Matters program runs from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school and from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Friday mornings before school. All currently enrolled MSE students are eligible to participate. The Youth Matters curriculum consists of academic skill development, Mathematics, Language Arts, with an emphasis on organization and work completion. Transportation is not provided for Youth Matters. 

  • Dates:  October 8, 2024 - May 30, 2025
  • Days:  Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays
  • Time:  3:00 PM to 4:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM on Fridays 
  • Location:  STMA Middle School East, classrooms TBD
