Athletics & Activities

With an exceptional variety of opportunities for athletics and activities, students at Middle School East can try new things, grow their skills, and aim for excellence in whatever they choose. The middle grades are an important time for students to be able to connect with others, explore their options, and receive a full-spectrum education that goes beyond the classroom. Students are encouraged to explore, engage, and pursue excellence!

Sports Physicals

Please make sure that the Middle School East Activities Office has a sports physical on file for your son or daughter. Physicals are good for three years, so most incoming 8th graders that played sports last year have a physical on file.  The Minnesota State High School League requires participants in interscholastic sports to have a physical examination every three years. If your son/daughter decides to participate in interscholastic athletics this year, a physical examination is required before they may register or practice. Physicals may be performed by your medical doctor or a doctor of chiropractic (good for three years). Download a copy of the physical form to bring to your medical appointment. Physicals can be dropped off at the school, emailed to nateh@mystma.org, or faxed to (763) 497-6591.

Registration

Registration for 7th and 8th grade Fall Sports will open on July 20th!

Organizational/Eligibility meeting: There is a parent meeting on Thursday, July 30th at 5:00 pm in the High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) to cover information regarding the middle school activities program. This meeting is not required but offers the opportunity to get information including eligibility policies, middle school activities philosophy, practice, and event information. While not guaranteed, many of the fall coaches are available at the meeting to cover more specific information about their activity and season.

All Middle School sports and activities registration is done online using Edutrack Connect, also known as SmartSchoolK12.

Click to Access Activity Registration

Go to your ParentVue account and select Fees. Then select Fees again below your student’s picture. This will take you to the online registration process. Please read through their information on setting up an account and how to register. The system will indicate if your student's sports physical is on file. It will allow you to proceed if the sports physical is recorded and up-to-date.  You will not be able to register until a current sports physical is on file and recorded in the system. Physicals can be dropped off at the school, emailed to nateh@mystma.org, or faxed to (763) 497-6591.
