Track & Field

There will be an organizational meeting for East athletes on Tuesday, March 5th. Parents do not need to attend that meeting. The first day of practice is Tuesday, April 2nd. Most of the track practices are held at Middle School West as that is where the district track is. Parents should pick their sons or daughters up at West after practices at 5:00. Athletes will be dropped off back at West following all away track meets as well. Transporation is provided for East athletes to West after school each day for practice.

Softball

8th Grade

The 8th Grade Softball teams swept Princeton on May 20th. The A Team won 15 - 1. Highlights included a 3 run homer by Tina K. and a spectacular diving catch in right field by Olivia S. The B Team's 15 -2 win was capped by yet another diving catch, this time by the pitcher, Allison R.

The 8th grade softball teams split with Monticello on May 16th. The B Team came from behind to win 8 -7. Rachel J. ripped a single between shortstop and 3rd base to drive in Marie A. with the winning run. The A Team lost 8-1.

The 8th grade softball teams split with Big Lake on May 14th. The B Team lost and the A Team won 6 – 2. The A Team is now undefeated with a record of 9 – 0.

The 8th grade softball teams swept Isanti on May 13th. The A Team won 7 – 1 behind great pitching by Brooke B. and stellar defense by Olivia S. The B Team won 10 – 3.

The 8th grade softball teams played two great games against Cambridge Thursday. The B Team won 8-7. Tina K. pitched 3 great innings and Rachel J., Marie A., and Kaitlyn S. each scored two runs. The A Team won 12 -1. Brooke B. pitched a great game, Allie M. knocked in 3 runs on a triple, and McKayla (Flip) P. had a 3 RBI home run.

The 8th grade softball teams played well against Buffalo in their first home game of the season May 8th. The A team used solid pitching by Brooke B., great team defense, and aggressive base running to win 9 – 2. Highlights of the B Team’s 7 – 7 tie was a home run by Makayla P. and a double by Rachel J.

The 8th grade softball teams swept Isanti on May 7th. The A team won 8 – 0 and the B Team won 10 – 5. Highlights included a triple by Jessica C., beautiful bunt singles by Olivia S. and Abbey K., and great pitching by Brooke B.

The 8th grade softball A team beat Becker 8 – 4 and the B team lost 8-0 on May 6th.

The 8th grade softball teams easily handled Buffalo on May 2nd. The B Team got things going with a come from behind 8 - 5 victory. The A Team followed that with a 15 – 4 win, highlighted by a double by McKayla (Flip) P. and a triple by Maren H..

The 8th grade softball teams played well in Big Lake on April 30th. The A Team won 2 – 0 and the B Team lost 5-3.

The 8th grade softball teams started their season against Monticello on April 29th. The A Team won 11 – 0 and the B Team lost 4-0.

7th Grade

7th grade softball had lots of good stuff on May 20th against Princeton. Alexis T. started the night with a homerun. Brooke F., Morgon R. and Clare O. backed it up with hits. the A team won 15-1. The B Team had some golden moments. Ray D. got two hits and Gabby S. made three outs on her own with Lyndsey F. lending a hand with a nice catch at short.

7th Grade Softball wrapped up the week with the A team beating Monticello 1-0 on May 16th. Courtney M. had stellar pitching. Riley C. and Ruthie S. had some great hits Brooke F. had a nice save at second.  The B Team lost, but not without some bright spots. Courtney J. had a nice hit and Haylee M. had some great base running.

The 7th grade A softball team defeated Isanti 10-1 on May 13th and Big Lake 2-0 on May 14th.  Morgan R. and Alexis T. hit triples.  The B team lost both games, but Emily H. did a great job as catcher and Hope L. pitched well. 

The 7th grade softball ended their week with theA teams plitting a 2-1 loss to Buffalo and a 7-6 win over Cambridge. Morgan R. was on fire this week with agreat fielding play and a solid hit, Clare O. was also on this weekwith a hit and hard core fielding. The B team had their best games of the season. They had two tough losses: 8-4 to buffalo and 10-6 to Cambridge. Courtney J. andMerena O. pitched two solid games There was nice aggressive base running by all the girls.

7th grade softball had two nice outings this week. A Team beat Becker 7-2 on May 6th and Isanti 9-0 on May 7th. Lexy F. hit a sweet home run and Courtney M. rocked a double. B-Team lost a tough fight to Becker 10-9 and 10-1 to Isanti. Emily U. had a nice tag out at 2nd.

7th grade A team softball team tied with Big Lake on April 30th 8-8 and took Buffalo on May 2nd 8-5. Hot pitching by Courtney M., a smoking hot double by Lexy F. and a nice catch by Clare O. were highlights. The B team lost to Big Lk 10-7 and lost a hard fought battle with Buffalo 9-8. Solid pitching by Hope L. and two nice saves by Merena O.

7th grade Softball had a great start to the season against Monticello on April 29th. A Team beat Monti 7-1. B Team lost 6-2. Nice job Ladies!

Baseball

8th Grade

The 8th grade baseball A team ended the season with an unfortunate loss to Princeton 5-4 on May 20th. Although they made a gritty comeback, led by Nate Ss slick glove skills and Zach O’s solid pitching, they fell short. The A team completed the season with a 9-2 record! The B team also fell to Princeton 6-1 although Griffen M pitched well. Congrats men, on a successful season!

On May 16th, the 8th grade baseball A team defeated Cambridge 8-0 behind a perfect game by Mitch B. Jack F. blasted a towering homerun and Thomas P. hit a 3 run double. The B team played very well but lost 6-2. Nick B. and Kyle E. both had solid hits.

8th grade baseball A team improved to 8-1 on the season after beating West 13-7 on May 15th. Jacob B. had a big RBI triple, Nate L. had a two run double, Mitch B. and Thomas P. both had a double and a three RBI. The B team lost 20-16 in gritty game filled with action. Grayson P. had 5 hits, Jon W. had 5 hits and Jackson L. had an excellent diving catch at catcher.

The 8th grade baseball team split with Buffalo on May 14th. The A team won convincingly 17-4. Nate L. pitched a gem andThomas P. hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI. Nick P. was an offensive force with 2 doubles, a homerun and 5 RBI! The B team lost 12-5 but Ian V. keeps swinging a hot bat with a single and a double and Jackson L. had 2 doubles.

8th grade baseball swept Monticello last night in dominant fashion. The A team won 10-4 behind great pitching performances from Tyler M. and Jacob B. The bats came alive as Nate S. and Travis B. both hit key triples and Nick P. added a three-run homer! The B team won 8-1 as Mitch B. struck out 8 batters and Ian V. had an RBI single.

8th grade baseball split with Isanti on May 9th. The A team won handily 11-3 as the bats were hot. Nick P. led the way with 3 solid hits, Tyler M. and Mitch B. each added 2 hits, and Jack F. crushed a 2 run double. The B team made an amazing comeback after trailing 11-0 but came up just short losing 11-9. Everybody contributed but Jon W. added the most excitement with a bases clearing triple.

8th grade baseball was swept by Big Lake May 7th. The A team lost a close one 5-4. Jack F. had 2 sharp hits. The B team fought back from a 6-0 deficit in the last inning but lost 6-3.

8th grade A team baseball beat Cambridge on May 6th 7-1. Jacob B. struck out 4 batters and Nate L. struck out 3 more. Kyle H. added a huge 3 run double. The B team started a win streak winning 6-0 as Nick B. pitched 3 scoreless innings while also hitting a double and a triple. Nathan P. and Jon W. each had 2 hits and Mubarek A. and Grayson P. each added a hit of their own.

8th grade baseball team beat West last night in the A game 7-3. Kyle H. pitched 5 scoreless innings while striking out 7 and Mitch B. added a spectacular, diving catch in center field. Jacob B. had a 2 run single and Zach O. had 2 hits, one of them a 2 run double. The B team lost 12-7.  Kyle E. and Jackson L. each had 3 hits.

8th grade baseball beat Becker in the A game 7-1 on April 30th. We had strong offensive performances by Travis B. and Kyle H. The B team tied 2-2 while Griffen M. added a big RBI single.

8th grade baseball split with Buffalo in our first games of the season on April 29th. The A team won 4-1 on a combined pitching effort from 6 pitchers and stellar defense. The B team lost 7-6 but Nathan P. struck out 8 batters and Nick B. added 3 hits. Great way to start the season!

7th Grade

7th grade baseball team split with Princeton on May 20th. The A team won 6 to 2 with great pitching from Garret B. and Shane M. Nolan S. and Garret B. twisted a couple double plays in the field and Garret S. launched another homerun last night. The B team lost a close one 6 to 4. Max C. pitched solid and Ben S. ripped a couple line drives through the defense.

7th grade baseball teams won both games on May 16th. The B team won 7 to 1 with great pitching from Zac T. and Ben S.. Hunter J. played solid at 1st while Jack M. and Alex P. continue ripping the ball! A team had another come from behind win. Nolan S. and Alex W. pitched well, while Paxton T., Alex W., and Eli P. swung hot bats to lead the team to a 9-7 victory.

7th grade baseball won both games on May 15th. The team had a nice come from behind win scoring three in the bottom of the 6th to win10-9. Mitchelle E. and Zach T. both had great bunts to help advance runners in key situations. Alex W. came in the game and closed it down with help from his double play turning defense. B team won 20-7. Chance M. was great in the field making some killer catches. Jimmy S. and Max C.were both lights out pitching. Alex P. had a bases clearing triple to help tally up the score.

The 7th grade baseball team split at Buffalo on May 14th. A team won 11-1. Paxton T. and Shane M. were lights out pitching while all of the bats were rolling for the offense. Garret S. hit a ground ball so hard it went through everybody and turned into a Homerun. B team lost 11-10. Peyton Larson pitched 6 innings while Jack M. cranked a double and Jimmy S. launched a homerun. Jacob F. flashed some leather in the field.

7th grade baseball split with Monticello on May 13th. The A team won 13 to 2 led by solid pitching from Alex W., Nolan S., and Garret S.. Schmitz and Morris both cranked homeruns; Morris with a grandslam! In the B game, Zach T pitched a complete game pitching performance and Connor M. with a hot glove in center. Ben S. played stellar defensively at 1st.

The 7th grade baseball team won both games May 9th vs Isanti. B team won 5 to 1 behind a strong pitching performance from Max C. A team won 9 to 3 with strong pitching from Garret B. and Alex W. Eli P. had a nice double and Nick H. had a laser single.

7th grade baseball split with Big Lake on May 7th. A team won 10-2 with great pitching from Shane M. and Paxton T. A lot of big hits for the A team as well, Nolan S. and Garret B. go yard with home runs AGAIN! Paxton T., Shane M., and Alex W. reached base each time ripping the ball to gaps and using their speed on the bases. B team lost 9 to 5. Jacob S. flashed some leather in the field making 2 nice catches and Jimmy S. used his speed to steal some bases and Peyton L. had two nice hits.

7th grade baseball earned two wins on May 6th up in Cambridge. The A team won 9 to 6 with help from Garret B’s Homerun and triple and Mitchell E. pitched a good game. The B team won 13-10 with a monster grand slam from Alex P. and solid pitching from Eli P. and Ben S.

7th grade baseball split at West last night. A team dominated with a great all around team performance. Paxton T. and Alex W. pitched lights out while Garret S. cranked 2 homeruns and Nolan S. added a Homerun and a triple in a 13-2 victory. B team lost their lead in the last inning losing 11-10. Zach T. and Max C. pitched great while Jacob C. flashed some leather in the field.

7th grade baseball split with Becker on April 30th. The A team won 3 to 0. Nolan S. and Eli P. came up with big hits finding the gaps in the outfield and Garret S. pitched a complete game shutout racking up 10 strikeouts. The B team had the lead going into the last inning but came up short 6 to 5. Cole J. reached base all 3 times, Peyton L. had a single and double while pitching a great 3 innings and Connor M. came up with a great catch in center field.

Both 7th grade baseball teams hit the diamond on April 29th for the first time and suffered a couple losses to Buffalo. A team score was 7-6 and B team score was 11-5. A highlight from last night was Paxton T’s monster shot that ended up being called a ground rule double.

Golf

There will be an organizational meeting for East golfers on Thursday, March 7th. Parents do not need to attend this meeting. The first day of practice is April 2nd. A bus picks West golfers up at 3:10 and East golfers at 3:20 each night and then takes them to Vintage Golf Course. Parents should pick their sons or daughters up at Vintage Golf Course at 5:15 each night of practice. Early on in the season, if we are unable to get onto Vintage, practices will be held at East. On those nights, parents should pick their sons or daughters up at East at approx. 4:30.
